The Academic year is from 1st April to 31st March. Whole academic program is explained under the following headings: |

Curriculum and Syllabus |
|
KG Section |
The curriculum is based on the six areas of learning as laid down in the Curriculum Guidance for
the Foundation Stage. These are as follows:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Developing skills such as dressing/undressing independently; managing personal hygiene; behaving according to the social and school expectations; cooperating with others; building confidence
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Developing speaking and listening, reading and writing
- Problem solving, Reasoning, Numeracy and simple Addition and Subtraction
- Counting, number recognition, mathematical language
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Helping to make sense of the world, forming the foundation for later work in Science, History and Geography.
- Physical Development
- Developing skills in different Games and to develop sports man spirit.
- Creative Development
- Art, show and tell
The kids of KG section study Oxford Syllabus harmonized with some School’s own printed books. |

SSC Classes (Class 9 to 10) |
SSC student have to study the curriculum prescribed by the FBISE (Federal Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education), Islamabad.
Subject Combinations
Mathematics, English, Urdu, Islamic Studies (SSC-1) and Pakistan Studies (SSC-2) are compulsory subjects. A group of three more subjects may be chosen from these:
1. Science Groups
a. Physics, Chemistry, Biology
b. Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science
2. Humanities Group
In this group General Science is compulsory subject and two more subjects may be chosen from following:
1. Civics 2. Islamic Studies (Optional) 3. Outlines of Home Economics 4. Clothing and Textile
5. Computer Science
Note: Non-Pakistani students have the option of choosing “ Geography of Pakistan” instead of Urdu. |

HSSC Classes (Class 11 to 12) |
HSSC student have to study the curriculum prescribed by the FBISE (Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education), Islamabad.
Subject Combinations
English, Urdu, Islamic Studies (HSSC-1) and Pakistan Studies (HSSC-2) are compulsory subjects. A group of three more subjects may be chosen from these:
a. Pre-Medical:
Physics, Chemistry, Biology
b. Pre-Engineering:
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
c. Science General:
Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science
d. Humanities Group:
Any three subjects may be chosen from the following:
1. Mathematics 2. Computer Science 3. Economics 4. Outlines of Home Economics
5. Arabic 6. Education 7. Civics 8. Islamic History
Note: Non-Pakistani students have the option of choosing “ Pakistani Culture” instead of Urdu. |

Scheme of Studies |
A comprehensive Scheme of Studies for the whole academic session is prepared by experienced and specialist teachers. The scheme of studies is also provided to all the students. |

Medium of Instruction |
Medium of instruction in the classrooms at Dar ul Hijrah is predominantly English but there is some mixing of our national language also, to ensure the clearance of concepts of linguistically weaker students. Children are encouraged to speak English at all opportunities throughout the school day. |

Examination System |
The Academic Year is divided into three terms i.e. 1st Term , 2nd Term and 3rd Term
Each term
consists of Class Tests, Projects, activities, participation and End of Term Examination.
- Average of class tests,
projects, class activities,
participation, etc. will also be
included in the result of each term.
- At the end of the year cumulative result is announced which includes the results of all the three terms.
- Positions are decided on the basis of cumulative result of three terms.
- In case of using unfair means during examination, the paper may be cancelled.
- Examination will not be
conducted before or after exam day
in any circumstances.

Promotion Policy |
A student will be promoted to next class if:
• He/ She secures at least 40% marks.
• He/ She is not fail in more than two subjects.
• He/ She is not fail in more than one main subjects (English, Urdu, Mathematics, Science).
• His/ Her attendance is not less than 75%
• He/ She has no objection on his behavior and moral character. |
